Nancy VandeVeer was one of the founders of the Great Lakes Chapter, serving as the Secretary in our first year, 1983. She was the owner of Western Michigan Research in Grand Rapids, which is now Advantage Research Services, owned by GLC member David Sokolowski. Nancy was a very active member of GLC, who attended almost every one of our seminars (when she wasn't traveling all over the world). She could be counted on to be the very first chapter member to send in their seminar registration, because she said she filled out the paperwork and sent in her check the day the flyer arrived. Nancy was also known as somewhat of a historian for MRA information. She kept a record of every MRA conference, when and where it was held, who was President at the time, and the conference chair's name. If you needed MRA conference information, Nancy was your source. Nancy passed away in May of 1997 and those of us who knew her miss her very much. She was a huge part of the founding and the growth of our chapter.

This is a program set up to allow any GLC member to nominate a co-worker for a job well done. The co-worker does not have to be a GLC member, only the person nominating the employee has to be a GLC member.

Imagine the look on their face when the nominated employee opens up the envelope with the recognition certificate and the letter telling them that their efforts are truly appreciated, and that they’ve been given a $10 gift card to celebrate their recognition.

Each quarter, one of the nominees will receive a $50 gift card and all nominees have a chance to be awarded one of the two annual cash prizes of $100.
